About Sun Valley Kitchen
Sun Valley Kitchen is centrally located in Denver, just south of Mile High Stadium. Our goal is to serve the Sun Valley community by offering a restaurant that features affordable, fresh cooked meals for breakfast and lunch. The menu includes hot sandwiches, fresh salads, seasonal soups and veggies, coffee, fresh baked goods, and the house specialty -- fresh cut fries. We've created a menu with many affordable options and pride ourselves in having your order ready in a matter of minutes.
Sun Valley Kitchen + Community Center’s founder, Glenn Harper, famous for his Fresh Cut Fries, purchased the building in 2012 with a vision for one day opening a restaurant in the Sun Valley neighborhood. His dream came to fruition in October of 2018 with the opening of Sun Valley Kitchen. The restaurant is affordable, with a menu as diverse as its residents, and serves as one of the only lunch options in the neighborhood. We are thankful for the support we have received since the restaurant’s opening and look forward to continuing.
The Kitchen provides employment for residents and youth in Sun Valley. Youth employed at SVK take part in a Youth Professional Development Program aims to empower young men and women by equipping them with tangible job skills.
The Kitchen also hosts a Local Chef Series every Thursday, featuring local community members and incredible cuisines they prepare from their diverse cultures. The entrepreneurship program creates opportunities for residents to gain experience in a commercial kitchen and create a full lunch menu. Proceeds from the weekly Chef Highlight support the chefs with their food business endeavors and provide supplemental income.
